Alastair Wootten
Coach Al, Owner and Director of Formula Fit has been working in the health and fitness industry since 2007. As a graduate of AUT with a Diploma in Fitness Training and Sports Massage Therapy, Al has been working alongside some on New Zealand’s most promising aspiring athletes in all facets of sport. As a racer himself, Al has guided some of New Zealand’s top race drivers on their journey to the top. As a driver himself he understand the demands and attributes required to be at the top of the sport. When Al isn’t behind the wheel of a racecar or working at the race track with his athletes you’ll most likely find him under a barbell at the gym or at the beach with wife, Samantha, and Formula Fit mascot, Kilo, the Frenchie!
Alastair is the Owner of Human Performance facility Formula Fit. As a motorsport racer himself, Alastair’s background stems from Karting to Formula First, Formula Ford and TRS. Currently, Alastair is racing in a TA1 Corvette TransAm.
In 2007, Alastair graduated from the Elite Motorsport Academy. Upon his return, whilst continuing to race in the Toyota Racing Series he graduated from his studies at AUT in Auckland, New Zealand, and later began working in the fitness industry. 10 years on, Alastair works with drivers in both New Zealand and abroad with athletes from all forms of motorsport: circuit, speedway, karting and drifting.
Whilst motorsport with 4-wheels is his passion, Alastair has worked with a number of rally, jet ski and motocross athletes such as WRC driver Haydon Paddon, World Jet ski Champion Tayne Lemon and World Super Bike Women’s Champion Avalon Biddle.
